NY Immigration Coalition Rallies for NY For All Act

On Tuesday, April 29, the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC), member organizations, and elected officials rallied at the State Capitol’s Million Dollar Staircase in support of the New York For All Act. The Act is a landmark piece of legislation that would prohibit state and local government agencies, including law enforcement, from collaborating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE. We hear from the two emcees, Cassandra Bocanegra of NYIC and Iridian Riccobono Lucas of the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement, followed by Assemblymember Karines Reyes, the lead sponsor of the bill; Jax a teenager from an immigrant family with Make the Road New York; Assemblymember Amanda Septimo; and Jessica Maxwell of the Workers Center of Central New York.
