It breaks from the hard-hitting historical dramas the country has turned out and charges right into the world of ideas from people in the streets. In the film, the struggle for reconciliation is nudged aside to reveal a country coming to terms with its new status as a promised land. It asks several questions, such as what does a richer African nation owe to its poorer neighbors, how does political crisis shape personal identity, and is the war over now? A selection from the Human Rights Watch Traveling Film Festival, presented with The Department of the Arts at RPI, and Women Against War. The Human Rights Watch Traveling Festival will have screenings on November 14th, 15th, and 16th, 2006.
