Love gardening? Want to speak more Spanish? Join The Sanctuary for Independent Media this summer for Spanish in the Garden days at Collard City Growers, which features gardening games and activities in both Spanish and English. A collaboration with Uptown Summer 2016, we welcome kids, parents, and the young at heart and are looking for friends and volunteers to help make this event special. You can learn about: caring for chickens in a city; gardening in a backyard or other small spaces inexpensively; creating healthy meals for children. We have: fun-filled games and art activities in the garden; healthy recipes for fresh summer produce; seed exchange; tips on accessing nutritional food. Held on July 12th and 19th.
