Republicans Block Good Cause Eviction in Troy

On Thursday, , members of the Troy Common Council’s Republican majority voted against holding a public hearing over opting into the Good Cause Eviction Law. Nearly 2,000 petition signatures have been collected in Troy in support of the cause. GOP majority members have argued that embracing “good-cause” protections passed by the state last year would unfairly burden property owners and empower bad tenants.
